Is there anything more
fun than listening to E Skip? Or staying up all night logging long haul
tropo, or going to bed at 4am and getting up for work at 8?
Skip Reception in Northern CT
Over the years I've picked up my share of skip reception on FM. Most of it tends to come from the southern states, especially Florida, but it also does show up from the midwest and Canada as far away as Winnipeg. I had to shrink this graphic to make it fit, but you can get an idea of what areas you can expect here in New England. Minimum is from about 350 miles out toward a maximim of 1500 miles (approx.). You can hear stations from those distances on your car radio, or a good portable.
Skip comes in from the east, also. Don't forget Newfoundland.
